Step-by-step guide

Auto DM everyone who comments on your post

To send a DM to everyone who comments, not only to people who write a certain word, choose “Any word” when you create the automation.

Try it free Needs an Instagram Business or Creator account.

Setup

  1. Create a new comment automation.
  2. In the trigger words, choose “Any word”.
  3. Pick a post or reel, or “All posts and reels” to include everything you publish later.
  4. Write the first DM and its button text, then the link that arrives after the tap.
  5. Turn the automation on.

What each person receives

A first DM you wrote, with a button such as “Send me the link”. When they tap it, they get your link in a second button that opens it. Both button texts are cut to 20 characters when sent, so keep them short.

When no DM is sent

Comments written by your own account get nothing. The first DM reaches the same person at most once per automation and per post within 24 hours, even if they comment several times; the public reply, if you turned it on, can still go to each comment, within 100 public replies a month on Free. DMs stop at your plan’s monthly limit (100 on the Free plan), and comments that arrive after that don’t get a DM later.

Questions

Do I need a keyword in my caption?

No. With “Any word”, any comment counts. If you want the DM to reach only people who ask for it, use a keyword instead.

Does it work on a reel I post next week?

Yes, if you pick “All posts and reels”.
