Step-by-step guide
Instagram DM auto reply
When someone sends your Instagram account a DM that contains a word you chose, such as “price” or “address”, Mr Clerko answers with a message you wrote in advance. This works on direct messages and is separate from comment automations.

How it decides which DMs to answer
Each DM automation has one trigger word or phrase and one of three match modes: “contains” (the word anywhere in the message), “exact” (the whole message is the word and nothing else) or “starts with”. Upper and lower case count the same. Unlike comment automations, DM matching does not treat أ and ا, ة and ه, or ى and ي as the same letter, and diacritics change the match, so if your customers write a word in several ways, make one automation per spelling. If a message matches more than one automation, only one of them replies, so give each automation its own word.
What the reply contains
One text message that you write. If you add a link, it is added as the last line of that message as plain text, not as a button, and clicks on it are not counted. Comment automations work differently: there the link arrives in a button and its clicks are counted.

Questions
Does it answer every DM I get?
No. It answers only messages that match the trigger word of an active DM automation. There is no option to answer every message.
What if the same person sends the word twice?
Each matching message gets its own reply, so two messages get two replies.
How many replies can it send?
Each reply counts toward the monthly DM limit of the Instagram account, 100 DMs on the Free plan. DMs sent by comment automations use the same limit.
Does it answer my own messages?
No. Messages sent by your own account are ignored.
